19th Annual Mutual Fund Basic Training Workshop

This half day training course is designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of how mutual funds are structured, assessed and sold.  Chris Minton,

VP/Training Manager for Citi Investor Services Operations, will lead the training.  The following key areas will be covered during this training:

 

Part I:  Fund Basics – we’ll take a look at common mutual fund objectives, the risk/reward characteristics of the securities they invest in, and the advantages associated with mutual funds.

Part II:  Purchasing Mutual Funds – we’ll assess how a fund’s share price is determined, where investors go to purchase funds, the various types of sales charges that exist, and examine what makes up a fund’s expense ratio.

Part III:  Comparing Mutual Funds – we’ll examine the criteria that investors and investment professionals use in comparing various funds:  performance, expense, risk  indicators, etc.

We will conclude by going through a Morningstar report to tie all of the information together!

 

BONUS:  Overview of Asset Allocation – we’ll have this bonus session presented over lunch.
