This half day training course is designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of how mutual funds are structured, assessed and sold. Chris Minton, VP/Training Manager for Citi Transaction Services, will lead the training. The following key areas will be covered during this training:
Part I: Fund Basics – we’ll take a look at common mutual fund objectives, the risk/reward characteristics of the securities they invest in, and the advantages associated with mutual funds.
Part II: Purchasing Mutual Funds – we’ll assess how a fund’s share price is determined, where investors go to purchase funds, the various types of sales charges that exist, and examine what makes up a fund’s expense ratio.
Part III: Comparing Mutual Funds – we’ll examine the criteria that investors and investment professionals use in comparing various funds: performance issues, expense ratios, risk indicators, etc. We will conclude by going through a Morningstar report to tie all of the information together!
