Todd Heim (Ultimus), Joey Ludwig (EY) and Ryan Wheeler (Thompson Hine) are the presenters for this training course designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of how mutual funds are structured, assessed and sold. The following key areas will be covered during this training:
Part I: Fund Basics – we’ll take a look at common mutual fund objectives, the risk/reward characteristics of the securities they invest in, legal and compliance considerations and the advantages associated with mutual funds.
Part II: Purchasing Mutual funds – we’ll assess how a fund’s share price is determined, where investors go to purchase funds, the various types of sales charges that exist, and examine what makes up a fund’s expense ratio.
Part III: Comparing mutual funds – we’ll examine the criteria that investors and investment professionals use in comparing various funds: performance, expense, risk indicators, etc.
